WHAT IS IN THIS PACK
====================
This pack contains the following files :
README.DOC : This file, containing information about how to use the new
set of zones, and updated registration requirements and
information. PLEASE, READ IT CAREFULLY.
ZONES1.ZNE : File containing the data for the zones. To be used by
the program (STETRIS.EXE).
FORM.TXT : The new registration form FOR THE GAME. This pack is
public domain and no fee is required.
NEW REGISTRATION INFORMATION
============================
Roge'r Soft is no longer an independant software company, and from now on,
all the games previously distributed from Roge'r Soft, will be distributed
under the name of the authors. We are the same staff as in Roge'r Soft,
anyway.
The new address to send registration form requests is :
Ariana Fu
62 Boylston St. #909
Boston, MA 02116
The $10 check must be payable to Rogelio B.Andreo.
Since Spectrum Holobyte has a game named SuperTetris(TM), we also decided to
rename our game as SuperRetriss, and new releases will include the new name.
If you already registered any program from Roge'r Soft, we (R.Bernal and
A.Fu) will still take care of you and process your registration, and a
few gifts will be included in the disk containing the registered release,
as an apologize for any inconvenience we might have cause you.
HOW TO USE THE NEW SET OF ZONES
===============================
In the examples, we assume that the game is currently in the following path :
C:\GAMES\STETRIS
And the file ZONES1.ZNE (from this pack) is in the drive A (no subdirectories).
IF YOU ARE A REGISTERED USER :
----------------------------
All you need to do is copy the file ZONES1.ZNE to the directory where the
game was installed, by typing :
A:\>copy zones1.zne c:\games\stetris
Then, run the program, and select LOAD ZONES (option 4 from the main menu).
Then, select the file ZONES1, and go back to play from the main menu. That's
all.
If you already had a file named ZONES1.ZNE, rename it with a different name
(but use the same extension ZNE), BEFORE you copy the file included here to
the same directory, by doing :
C:\GAMES\STETRIS>ren zones1.zne zones1b.zne
In fact, you can rename either one (our ZONES1 or the ZONES1 you already
have). Whatever you like the most !!
IF YOU DON'T HAVE THE REGISTERED RELEASE:
----------------------------------------
In the directory where the game was installed, rename the file BOARDS.DAT
to B1.DAT, by typing :
C:\GAMES\STETRIS>ren boards.dat b1.*
Then, copy the file ZONES1.ZNE to the game directory :
C:\GAMES\STETRIS>copy a:zones1.zne
And now, rename it to be BOARDS.DAT, by typing :
C:\GAMES\STETRIS>ren zones1.zne boards.dat
Whenever you want to use the old set again, you just need to rename
BOARDS.DAT to B2.DAT, and then rename B1.DAT to BOARDS.DAT.
The reason is very simple. The unregistered release uses a file named
BOARDS.DAT as the zones data file, and cannot use any other filename
as a zones data file. So, whenever you obtain a new file (set) of zones
you just need to make sure that the current BOARDS.DAT is renamed as
something different, and rename the new set as BOARDS.DAT.
With just little knowledge of DOS, you can handle it yourself without any
problem. If you have problems, is because you did not understand clearly
the instructions above and/or you are not good enough in DOS.
Whatever is your case, do not forget that by registering the program, you
will obtain the registered release, which includes a very easy to use
zones loader, and also a full-screen mouse driven to design, modify and
save new customized zones for you personal use (and why not, share it with
other people). So, go and register !!
Enjoy it !!
